About Us

Welcome to the FBI Kansas City Citizens Academy Alumni Association

The FBI Kansas City Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBIKCAAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer organization that works in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on community outreach programs to promote public safety and security through community engagement, education, and service initiatives.

Our chapter joins more than 53,000 community leaders, serving as volunteers in nearly 60 FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association Chapters across the United States, dedicated to making our neighborhoods safe, vibrant places to live, work, and recreate. Members are graduates of the FBI Citizens Academy Program.

The FBI Kansas City Citizens Academy Alumni Association supports community outreach priorities of the FBI by leading, and serving local the FBIKCCAAA.  Our role is three-fold:

  • To serve as the interface and liaison with FBI Field Office;
  • To assist community outreach programs in partnership with the FBI Field Office
  • To build relationships between the community and law enforcement partners

Building Safer Communities through Citizen Leadership

Our chapter works hand in hand with local FBI Field Office to develop and deliver outreach programming tailored to our community.  Chapter meetings bring members together on a regular basis to hear presentations on topics of importance to regional safety and security. Alumni volunteer time, expertise, and material support for community service initiatives.

As volunteer ambassadors for the FBI, the FBIKCCAAA educates communities about federal law enforcement issues, priorities, and goals; and serves to foster a greater understanding of the role of federal law enforcement in alignment with the mission and resources of the FBI. Our Chapters and members do this by:

  • Providing public education programs to raise awareness of community safety issues such as cyber crime, violent extremism, drugs, terrorism, gang activity, public corruption and other criminal activities.
  • Equipping citizens with information, tools and resources to address public safety issues such as opioid addiction, hate crimes, online scams, human trafficking, and active shooter situations.
  • Hosting events and discussions that facilitate collaborative relationships among federal, state, and local law enforcement, and promote positive community and law enforcement relationships.
  • Sponsoring community service initiatives to help at risk populations through food drives, clothing donations, childhood reading programs, senior meals, and school supplies.
  • Supporting FBI sponsored outreach and information programs to community citizens, businesses, religious organizations, and government agencies.
